Meet Karen Andreas
Family law is personal and I practice it that way.
My career in family law began at the front desk. From receptionist to paralegal to attorney, I have spent more than 20 years helping people navigate some of the most important - and difficult - transitions in their lives. That path gave me a practical understanding of family law from the ground up and an appreciation for how much clear communication and dependable support matter.
I founded Andreas Law Firm to offer experienced representation with a personal approach. Whether you are facing divorce, a child custody dispute, or changes to an existing order, my goal is to help you understand your options, make informed decisions, and move forward with confidence. I take the time to learn what matters to you and develop a strategy that reflects your family’s needs. I value thoughtful negotiation and preparation.
Whenever possible, I believe families benefit from reaching thoughtful, workable agreements, rather than leaving every decision to the courtroom. I help clients identify what matters most, evaluate realistic options, and work toward resolutions that protect their interests while giving their families a clearer path forward.
My perspective comes from more than my professional experience. As a child of divorce, a stepdaughter, and someone who has experienced divorce firsthand, I understand that a legal case is only one part of what a family is going through. As a mother and stepmother, I also know the care, patience, and flexibility that parenting and co-parenting require.
Those experiences shape how I practice. I help clients consider both their immediate concerns and how today’s decisions may affect their lives for years to come. When children are involved, their emotional well-being and need for stability remain central to that conversation.
I live in Montgomery County with my husband, Eric, and our four daughters. Family is at the heart of my life, and helping other families find their way forward is at the heart of my work.
